Kingspan Water’s Marque of Excellence for Rainwater Harvesting Products

Kingspan Water’s entire range of market-leading solutions for rainwater harvesting has just been accredited with the prestigious Waterwise’s Marque of Excellence.

Its Envireau, Raintrap and Raintrap Plus products all reached the required standard to receive the stamp of approval from the UK’s leading authority on water efficiency.

The Envireau rainwater harvesting system, a popular low-cost choice for new-build projects, collects rainwater from the roof and guttering, filtering it before storing it in an underground tank containing a pump and filter. The water can be used, with or without the addition of a header tank, for a variety of non-potable uses including flushing loos, laundering clothes and washing vehicles.

More typical products for ‘retro-fitting’ onto existing properties are Kingspan Water’s Raintrap and Raintrap Plus, which are both designed for watering the garden. Rainwater is collected, filtered and stored in a large water storage tank, and then pumped under pressure from the tank to a hose.

Rainwater harvesting can not only help conserve water supplies, it can also bring significant cost savings for properties on water meters.

A full rainwater recycling tank for a two-storey house with a 100m² roof can provide enough water for 200 toilet flushes, 30 full washing machine cycles and 12 car washes and give an annual saving of £256 for a property on a water meter.
